On Tuesday, February 20th The Writers Place and the Johnson County Library presented Thomas Zvi Wilson Reading Series poetry reading featuring former inmates incarcerated at Lansing Prison. Buyert facilitated the reading.

Thomas Zvi Wilson Reading Series
On Tuesday, February 20th at 6:00 pm, The Writers Place and the Johnson County Library will present a poetry reading by inmates and former inmates incarcerated at Lansing Prison.
Due to room constraints, this inmate reading will be held at the Johnson County Arts and Heritage Center located at 8788 Metcalf Avenue in Overland Park.
The book “Oh Say Can You See” -War Poems, has recently been reviewed in the Hispanic website Dela boca al corazon or “From the Mouth to the Heart”.
Arts in Prison Spoken Word Night

Reflections in Poetry and Music
Local composers Don Follmer and Ryan Main created musical compositions that reflect and interpret the poetry of Arlin Buyert. These works were premiered at Village Presbyterian Church on Oct. 10th, 2017. Music was performed by cellist Sascha Groschang and pianist Dr. Elisa Bickers.
